Order Updates & Fabric Hunting Is Almost Over
I feel off. And have felt off since getting COVID in September. I'm still dealing with fatigue and brain fog. I'm able to work at a much healthier pace, and having a much smaller order queue this year is perfect for my current condition. Paul and I will be taking a few days off next weekend to finally have some "us" time away from work. : )
I had a feeling that fabric hunting wouldn't be easy. But I feel better prepared this year than my last fabric nightmare in 2019. As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I have been focusing on finding new fabric suppliers since one of my favorite online fabric shops abruptly closed. I was able to rush order various fabric swatches from a few overseas suppliers and excited to share new mesh and solid jersey options for my entire Ayumi Collection next Spring.
It takes me a while to partially sew all of my pending orders, but most of these orders will be finished within the next few weeks.

My garage is packed with racks of fully steamed and inspected finished orders ready to pack up for shipment. I apologize for holding these orders hostage while I went through my stressful fabric hunting. Whenever supplier issues occur, I am jealous of larger companies that have dedicated departments, teams and abundant funds to handle sourcing easily. Maintaining a sustainable handmade brand has many ups and downs. After 9 years of this journey, I know how to tackle these obstacles even with my small biz budget on my own.
